Spotlighting music by women and queer-identifying composers, Salon à Trois interweaves sumptuous Romantic era music with fresh sounds from living American composers. Join us next month for a concert of fresh sounds in two Northern California venues! With new music by Hannah Roedder, Durwayne Hsieh and Nancy Bachmann, both programs include a fully-staged performance of Bachmann’s Micro Opera Mystery “A Remarkably Capable Woman” featuring mezzo-soprano Shauna Fallihee. Performances take place on September 2nd at Watermelon Music in Davis, and on September 3rd at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church in Daly City. Find all the details on my Events page.

SPRINGTIME PREMIERES AND PERFORMANCES

Spring 2023 is in full bloom with new works and live performances! On May 7, I premiere my new micro-opera mystery A Remarkably Capable Woman for voice and piano, performed by lauded mezzo-soprano Shauna Fallihee, at the Nevada County Composer’s Cooperative Spring Concert: New Beginnings. And before that, on April 5, I’ll partner with celebrated Bay Area cellist Amy Brodo to present the premiere of Twelve for cello and piano, as well as a repeat performance of Scarecrows for cello and piano, at the Berkeley Piano Club. JOINING THE ROSTER OF NEVADA COUNTY COMPOSERS COOPERATIVE

With a mission to foster the creation and help facilitate the performance of original new music, the Nevada County Composers Cooperative presents new music concerts in a user friendly manner for the audience and composers alike, helping destigmatize the nagging concept that modern music should be difficult or painful to listen to.

BERKELEY PIANO CLUB
TAPESTRY WORLD PREMIERE

Tapestry, a new work for two sopranos and piano, received its World Premiere as part of a in-person event sponsored by Berkeley Piano Club on March 16, 2022. The performance featured sopranos Marta Johansen and Ellen St. Thomas. This permanent YouTube video will remain online for future viewing.
